Paramoor Winery

Up the gravel drive, past the clydesdale horse feeding in the paddock and past the cockatoo and the very funny Galah that screeches “Shut up you bludger!” Is the cellar door of Paramoor, housed in the old clydesdale stables. Inside is filled with rustic charm and some good old country hospitality.
Will, the winemaker was our host who guided and talked to us about each of his wines. There was one Rosé on offer but it was the consistently top quality reds that had me salivating for more. The wines were all single region but depending on the wine the grapes are either sourced from Macedon, Heathcote or the Goulburn Valley. Seven different wines are on offer with some having back vintages made for a most enjoyable visit. The Pinot was excellent but from there it was hard to pick an outright winner from the two Shiraz the Cabernets and the Cab blends.
Many of the red wines punched well above their weight offering great value for the wine drinker. If you love your reds then Paramoor is a must see destination.
