Scotchmans Hill
An extensive wine list with many different labels and price points means you really have your work cut out for you if you want to try all the wines from Scothmans Hill. Several grape varities are represented in many of the different ranges giving the wine enthusiast or the the everday punter a great opportunity to compare these wines against each other. For example, Pinot Noir can be tasted across the various ranges to see how the wine can alter by using different wine making techniques and different parcels of grapes from the same producer. I found an excellent value Pinot in the Swan Bay range, my wife really fancied The Sotchmans Hill Cabernet, but for me their signature Cornelius Syrah was my wine of the moment.
A nice courtyard, with tables and umbrellas, sits to the side of the tasting room looking out over the vines. Between the trees that line the property the Melbourne skyline could be made out from across the bay with impressive views
