Shelmedere
Eight wines were up for tasting and the two whites and the Rosé were a cracking way to start the tasting. First up was a great Riesling with mineral undertones that was clean and crisp. The Viognier was excellent value and the Rosé made from Grenache would have to be up there with one of my favourites. Our host was excellent, hospitable and full of knowledge and with some good back-stories to the winery.
With each wine we tasted our host explained a little about each wine making our stay enjoyable and informative. Four Reds and a sweet Viognier brought our tasting to an end. A café forms part of the room where the wine tasting happens with some outdoor tables when the weather permits.
